Trauma to Triumph: Hypnosis for Posttraumatic Growth

Gaye Gibson: This presentation will briefly describe a theoretical framework for conducting sessions with individuals who have experienced trauma and have a desire to move beyond those experiences and their accompanying emotions. I will suggest ways of using hypnosis to help clients visualize themselves moving from an identity of victim to not just a survivor but a “thriver", able and eager to live in the here and now in stability and joy—not in spite of their difficulties but because of them.
